NEOM’s Head of Innovation, Wyatt Roy, recently visited Sustainable Innovations (SI) in Khobar, underscoring the growing prominence of Saudi Arabia’s hard-tech ecosystem. NEOM, the Kingdom’s flagship smart city project, is redefining urban living and sustainability through 100% renewable energy, advanced technology, and a commitment to economic diversification.

SI, a pioneering Saudi company, specializes in end-to-end product development and hard-tech venture creation, transforming local ideas into market-ready products such as edge-computing IoT solutions and Saudi’s first locally manufactured fiberglass sport utility boat.

Both organizations share a vision for fostering innovation, nurturing Saudi talent, and advancing the knowledge economy. During the visit, Roy highlighted SI’s achievements—including their NEOM-sponsored solar car project—and the alignment between NEOM’s large-scale ambitions and SI’s agile, entrepreneurial approach.

The recent signing of a non-binding MOU formalizes the first steps toward collaboration, signaling future opportunities to co-develop impactful technologies and accelerate the Kingdom’s transformation into a global innovation hub.
