Driven by our strong belief in Saudi youth, we established the Estidamah Solar Car Team as our social responsibility, as a venue to enable others to unleash their capabilities for innovation and have the opportunity to experience the product development process. Estidamah also shows our confidence in our products as many SI products were piloted in the solar car. The Estidamah Solar Car Team built “Sana”, a high efficiency electric race that runs solely on solar energy. Sana consists of 1000W of flexible solar panels covering a 4 m2 area and utilizes a DC hub motor with maximum speed of 160kph with a high efficiency of 99.2%. With a lightweight carbon fiber body and aerodynamic design, Sana consumes only 1100W at 90kph. The car features many in-house, cutting edge durable technologies such as flexible solar cells, a modular battery system and an aerodynamic carbon fiber body. These technologies were put to the ultimate test during a 3000km endurance race across the Australian continent.
